All signs are pointing to 2017 being an important year for 3D printing with innovative new technologies, new printers and new applications emerging. 3D printing has been a cost-effective prototyping option for some time now, but it is rapidly gaining steam as a production option as well.  With all of this change and innovation can also come confusion.  In this deep dive presentation, Cullen Hilkene will provide a roadmap to making the most of 3D printing in this time of change. He will present the technologies, materials, and the economics of 3D printing with a goal of helping attendees become versed in the technology and know which technologies to choose for various projects.  The presentation will cover the major printing technologies and materials, with an emphasis on metal 3D printing.  He will provide perspective on best practices for weighing the purchase of 3D printing technology relative to outsourcing parts as a service.  He will also lend perspective gleaned from 3Diligent’s recent State of Professional and Industrial 3D Printing report.   Participants in the presentation will leave with a clearer sense of the state of the 3D printing market and equipped with the knowhow to save time and money by utilizing the right 3D printing technology and sourcing approach for their project needs.
